Studio MMR is a design firm based in Los Angeles, established in 2023 by Laure Michelon, Galileo Morandi, and Casey Rehm that is deeply committed to the intersection of contemporary technologies with art & design. The studio leverages machine vision, artificial intelligence, data analysis and interactive simulation to shape a more intelligent, responsive, and environmentally conscious future through the application of innovative design strategies.

Laure Michelon


Laure Michelon holds a post-professional Master of Science in Architectural Technologies from SCI-Arc and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Columbia University. She serves as a faculty member at UCLA AUD With over a decade of professional experience, she commenced her career in engineering and sustainability, holding positions as an Energy Analyst and Project Manager at Glumac Tetra Tech. Later, she transitioned into the field of architecture, working as a Designer and Project Coordinator at the architectural firm Oyler Wu Collaborative, and Studio Kinch where she contributed to several urban design and architecture projects. Currently, Laure actively engages in the realm of automation and the integration of AI tools into urban planning and architectural design. She also takes on a curatorial role for the artistic collective SUPERCOLLIDER, operating at the intersection of art and technology.




Galileo Morandi


Galileo Morandi is an architect and computational designer currently based in Los Angeles, CA. Before joining Studio MMR he was the principal at Atelier Galileo, a design office involved with a variety of architecture and interior design projects with a focus on the integration between digital manufacturing and computational design, delivering custom high-end product to clients such as SHVO, Daniel Boulud, Studio Ange and Boffi. Is currently engaged in teaching at Sci-Arc workshops about generative tools and digital fabrication into architectural design, and starting from December 2022 became publisher for Elle Decor Italy, with a dedicated weekly column on Innovations in Architecture & Technology. He previously worked as Senior Associate at Jerde Partnership (Los Angeles) and Dewan Architects (Dubai) directing the computational design departments for both offices and working on several large scale development in USA, South America, China, Europe and the Middle East. He received his MARCH from Politecnico of Milan in 2011 and his post-professional degree from Sci-arc in 2014.


M. Casey Rehm


M. Casey Rehm is a designer based in Los Angeles, CA.  His work focuses on the integration of machine learning, intelligent agency, and platform software for design and cultural production.  His works have been exhibited at national and international museums and galleries including Centre Pompidou, FRAC Orleans, Pola Annex Ginza, and the Chicago Art Institute.  Additionally he has received several grants in the area of artificial intelligence and architecture including two from the Google Artists and Machine Intelligence group.  Currently he is the Coordinator for the MS Architectural Technology program and is the Faculty Director of the Platforms and Automation Lab at SCI Arc.  He received his BARCH from Carnegie Mellon University in 2005 and his MS AAD from Columbia University in 2009.
